Application Process

Step-1

Email us all the necessary (whatever recent report is available from the following list) reports of the patient, along with proper medical history.

Blood Group Complete Blood Count Liver Function Tests Kidney (Renal) Function Test Prothrombin Time and International Normalized Ratio (PT/INR) Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) Level Ultrasound Sonography Test Abdomen CT scan Liver angiogram Upper GI endoscopy
Step-2

In case Transplant is required, our doctors will share a treatment plan. You will have to arrange for a blood group compatible donor. Once you have a donor ready, please proceed to Step-3. Who can be Donor

Step-3

Once the donor is approved, email us following report

Height & Weight Blood Group Complete Blood Count Liver Function Tests Kidney (Renal) Function Test Prothrombin Time and International Normalized Ratio (PT/INR) Ultrasound Abdomen (to rule out fatty liver) Thyroid Tests – T3, T4 and TSH Hepatitis B (HbsAg), Hepatitis C (HCV antibody) Lipid profile HIV I & II

Once you have an approval for the transplant, please proceed to Step-4

Step-4

Email us the scanned copies of passport of the patient, donor & attendants (maximum two, if the patient is visiting from Pakistan). We will provide ‘A letter of invitation’ for the visa.

Step-5

Please attach this ‘Letter of Invitation’ with your Visa application. Once the Embassy has verified and issued a medical visa for all the visitors, please proceed to Step-6.

Step-6

Email us your tickets and arrival dates, and we will schedule a pick-up for you. Our co-ordinators will also assist you in getting flight tickets/bus tickets/rental car from the border (We will also assist you for police reporting/registration and accommodation. You can book an accommodation for as minimum as 15$/day. Once you are through with all the formalities)
please proceed to Step-7.

Step-7

Post arrival, the patient and the donor will be taken directly to the hospital for pre-work up and fitness test. Patient evaluation will continue for 2-3 days after complimentary stay in hospital room & donor test will be performed on out patient basis.

Step-8

Following medical clearance, our co-ordinators will start preparing your file with all the necessary documents in order to get a NOC from the Embassy. Once we have received the NOC, we will proceed with Step-9.

Step-9

Once the authorisation committee clears the case, the date of surgery is decided by Dr. Vivek Vij.

Step-10

The patient as well as the donor will be admitted 1-2 days prior to the surgery. Soon after the transplant, both of them will be shifted to ICU and later in a private ward (food will be provided). The patient will remain at the hospital for about 2-3 weeks while the donor will continue to stay for 8-10 days.

Step-11

After discharge, the patient will continue to stay in the guest house for about 3-4 weeks and will have to visit the doctor for further follow-ups. Post-operative tests will be done on weekly basis.

Step-12

Once you’re fit to travel back we will issue the travel certificate, we will share all the necessary contact numbers and instructions for further follow-ups. In case you have any concerns, please get in touch with us at ailbs.fortis@gmail.com

*Full Treatment process for the liver transplant will take between 60-90 days.
